Femius Koenderink elected OSA Fellow

Femius Koenderink elected OSA Fellow

The Optica (formerly OSA) Board of Directors has elected Femius Koenderink to the 2022 Fellows Class. He is one of the 106 members to be honored this year. Koenderink was elected ‘for fundamental contributions to subwavelength resonant nanophotonics to control scattering, emission, and amplification of light at the nanometer scale’. Koenderink leads the Resonant Nanophotonics group at AMOLF and is head of the Nanophotonics department.

Fellows are Optica members who have served with distinction in the advancement of optics and photonics. As Fellows can account for no more than 10 percent of the total membership, the election process is highly competitive. Candidates are recommended by the Fellow Members Committee and then submitted for review and approval by the Awards Council and Board of Directors.
